Guide their Learning

Ask a question and let them find the solution themselves.

When your child encounters a problem - in a slump, made a mistake, is frustrated - the urge is to solve it completely for them. Experiencing these moments is crucial for their character development.

What often happensGiving the solution or coaching them: "You need to shoot it earlier", "You need to show better body language", "Use your weak foot more"
Try insteadSwap the instruction for a question, and then let them do the thinking. "How did you feel when that happened?" · "What might you try next time?" · "How can you work at that at home?" Let them think through a solution before adding your own advice.
Why it works

Players thinking through issues and coming up with a solution on their own makes it more memorable - and you raise a problem-solver, not a player who depends on others. Feeling in control of their own decisions drives long-term motivation and character development, ready to face issues that arise on and off the field.
